Any owner who knowingly or intentionally fails to comply with this chapter, or who knowingly or intentionally presents any false or misleading information to employees or any other owner, is guilty of a misdemeanor punishable by a fine of up to one thousand dollars ($1,000) or up to one year in the county jail, or both. This section shall become operative on July 1, 1989. [1990]
